Azure Cloud Infrastructure Engineer

Location

Hybrid / Remote (US)

Role Overview

We are looking for a Cloud Infrastructure & DevOps Engineer to help build, operate, and continuously improve the cloud platforms supporting SaleDock and Celerant retail systems. This role is responsible for managing Azure infrastructure, improving reliability, and developing automation that streamlines provisioning and deployment processes for new ecommerce customers.

You will work closely with development and support teams to ensure our production and test environments are secure, scalable, and operationally efficient.

Key Responsibilities

Cloud Infrastructure & Operations

  • Build, manage, and maintain Azure cloud infrastructure supporting ecommerce and retail operations.
  • Administer production and test environments across Linux (and Windows where required).
  • Monitor performance, capacity, uptime, and resource consumption across hosted applications.
  • Create and maintain dashboards and monitoring views to proactively identify issues.
  • Ensure high availability and reliability across customer-facing services.

Automation & Deployment

  • Develop and maintain automation for provisioning, configuration, testing, and deployment.
  • Maintain CI/CD pipelines for ecommerce environments, including creating pipelines for new customer sites.
  • Improve and automate manual go-live processes for onboarding new ecommerce customers, including:
    • Provisioning web applications
    • Configuring custom domains and SSL validation
    • Deploying environment-specific infrastructure and pipelines

Support Tooling & Reliability

  • Develop internal tooling that enables support teams to monitor, restart, and manage endpoints/services.
  • Assist with incident response, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis.
  • Participate in an on-call or out-of-hours escalation rota (if required) to support uptime expectations.

Security & Best Practices

  • Apply operational security best practices across the Azure environment.
  • Implement hardening, access controls, patching processes, and secure networking.
  • Ensure infrastructure is compliant with internal standards and industry best practice.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Strong experience managing cloud infrastructure in Microsoft Azure.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Bicep, ARM, etc.).
  • Strong CI/CD pipeline experience (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, etc.).
  • Experience supporting production workloads and diagnosing performance issues.
  • Solid understanding of networking concepts (VNets, subnets, routing, firewalls, DNS).
  • Comfortable working with Linux administration (and Windows Server where relevant).
  • Scripting / automation skills (PowerShell, Bash, Python, etc.).
  • Familiarity with monitoring tools (Azure Monitor, Application Insights, Grafana, etc.).


Nice to Have

  • Experience running multi-tenant ecommerce or SaaS platforms.
  • Experience with scaling strategies, load balancing, and resilience planning.
  • Understanding of security frameworks and governance in Azure (Defender, Policy, RBAC best practices).
  • Experience building internal support tooling or operational dashboards.
