Job description

IXL Learning, developer of personalized learning products used by millions of people globally, is seeking a Marketing Director for Rosetta Stone. #LI-CC1

Rosetta Stone has been the leading language learning program for 30 years, and in this role, you will play a key part in defining the future of the Rosetta Stone brand. You'll be responsible for devising creative, multi-channel marketing strategies that drive customer acquisition and retention both domestically and internationally. You'll bring alignment and focus in our marketing efforts across brand advertising, digital marketing, product marketing, email marketing, social media, influencer marketing, and more.ย 

While your main focus will be on marketing the Rosetta Stone consumer product, you will also have the opportunity to lead the marketing for Rosetta Stone for Enterprise, which helps companies like BMW, Sony, and Williams-Sonoma enable their employees to speak and work confidently across language barriers. You'll oversee strategies for areas including demand and lead generation, field marketing, and product messaging.

The ideal candidate has a track record of developing innovative approaches to opportunities and challenges, a strong ability to build consensus and collaboration across teams and departments, and a customer-first approach to marketing. We are looking for someone who is a strong communicator and storyteller, and who makes decisions with a balance of data and insights plus instinct and intuition.

This position requires you to be in our San Mateo, CA, headquarters office.ย 

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
  • Work with executive leadership and marketing leaders to develop marketing strategies to achieve our customer acquisition goals and secure Rosetta Stone's position as the market leader for the long-termย 
  • Refine and build out Rosetta Stone's brand narrative and positioning to appeal to a broad range of consumers
  • Oversee the integration of our marketing efforts across channels, working with marketing team leads to ensure consistency throughout customer touchpoints including: brand advertising, digital marketing, product marketing, email marketing, social media, influencer marketing, affiliate marketing, public relations, SEO, and more
  • Own the pricing and promotion strategy, ensuring cohesion across marketing channels and continually testing and optimizing these strategies over time
  • Lead go-to-market planning for new product and feature launches, coordinating both external and internal communications
  • Devise and implement marketing strategies localized for key international markets to grow our global customer base
  • Manage and mentor a small team of marketing generalists and email marketers, with opportunity to add headcount
  • Rosetta Stone for Enterprise: Lead our B2B marketing efforts, with a focus on developing compelling product messaging and materials, and lead generation and lead nurture strategiesย 
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
  • BA/BS degreeย 
  • 12+ years of consumer brand marketing and/or integrated marketing experience, including experience leading and driving overarching marketing strategy
  • B2B or enterprise marketing experience is a plus
  • 5+ years of people management experience, including managing other people managers
  • Strategic thinking: You are able to take a set of goals and build short- and long-term plans and strategies to achieve them. You don't fall back on doing what's always been done, but consider an idea from all angles, ask smart questions, and make thoughtful decisions that align with the company needs, values, and resources
  • Written communication: You are an exceptional writer and editor who knows how to clearly communicate a message, cut through the noise, and make every word countย ย 
  • You get things done: You're a self-starter, detail- and deadline-oriented, organized, and adaptable. You have the ability to manage complex, cross-functional projects and rally stakeholders around a common goal

The base salary range for this full-time position is $200,000 to $250,000 + benefits. Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position. Individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.ย
