Residential Roofing EstimatorPosition Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Residential Roofing Estimator to join our growing team. This individual will be responsible for accurately estimating residential roofing projects, preparing competitive proposals, and helping ensure projects are completed efficiently and within budget. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of asphalt shingle and residential metal roofing systems, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

Key ResponsibilitiesCustomer Relations
  • Meet with homeowners to assess project needs and provide roofing solutions.
  • Educate customers on roofing products, materials, and warranty options.
  • Follow up on proposals and assist with closing sales opportunities.
  • Serve as a primary customer contact throughout the estimating process.
Estimating & Proposal Development
  • Conduct site inspections and gather accurate measurements.
  • Evaluate existing roof conditions and identify project requirements.
  • Prepare detailed estimates, material takeoffs, and proposals.
  • Calculate labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
  • Present estimates professionally and clearly to prospective customers.
  • Develop pricing for asphalt shingle and residential metal roofing projects, including materials, flashings, ventilation systems, and specialty components.
  • Coordinate with suppliers to verify pricing, availability, and lead times.
Project Coordination
  • Work closely with production teams, project managers, and suppliers to ensure successful project execution.
  • Assist with material procurement and scheduling activities.
  • Ensure smooth transitions from estimating and sales to project completion.
Sales & Business Development
  • Track leads, proposals, and closed projects using CRM software.
  • Meet or exceed sales and revenue goals.
  • Participate in networking events, home shows, and other business development activities as needed
Qualifications
  • Minimum 2 years of residential roofing estimating or roofing sales experience.
  • Hands-on residential roofing experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of residential construction practices and building codes.
  • Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to read blueprints, plans, and scopes of work.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and customer service skills.
  • Valid driver's license with reliable transportation.
  • Knowledge of residential metal roofing systems, including standing seam and exposed-fastener applications, is highly preferred.
