Key Responsibilities

Safety Strategy & Ownership

  • Define and own the end-to-end safety and compliance strategy across robotics operations.
  • Establish and maintain safety standards, protocols, and operating procedures.
  • Develop and track safety KPIs and compliance metrics.
  • Proactively identify risks and implement preventative safety measures.

Operational Safety Management

  • Ensure safe execution of all robotics workflows, including:
    • Robot operation and handling
    • Teleoperation sessions
    • Lab and field activities
  • Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments.
  • Enforce adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs) across all teams.
  • Act as the authority to pause or stop operations if safety risks are identified.

Compliance & Process Enforcement

  • Ensure all activities comply with:
    • Client requirements
    • Internal operational guidelines
    • Applicable safety standards and policies
  • Maintain and evolve compliance documentation, SOPs, and safety guidelines.
  • Monitor adherence to workflows, data handling procedures, and operational controls.

Incident Management & Risk Mitigation

  • Lead incident reporting, investigation, and resolution processes.
  • Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Maintain logs and reporting for all safety and compliance incidents.
  • Proactively identify trends and implement risk mitigation strategies.

Training & Team Enablement

  • Design and deliver safety training and certification programs for all operational roles.
  • Ensure all team members are properly trained before engaging in robotics workflows.
  • Promote a safety-first culture across the organization.
  • Provide guidance and support to Workflow Managers and operators on safety best practices.

Performance Monitoring & Continuous Improvement

  • Track and report on safety performance metrics (incident rates, compliance adherence, audit results).
  • Drive continuous improvement in safety processes, tools, and workflows.
  • Identify inefficiencies and recommend improvements that maintain safety while increasing operational efficiency.

Client & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for safety and compliance with client stakeholders.
  • Provide regular reporting and updates on safety performance and risk mitigation.
  • Lead discussions on safety protocols, audits, and escalations.
  • Anticipate client needs and proactively strengthen safety frameworks.
Experience
  • Experience in safety, compliance, or operations roles within robotics, hardware, manufacturing, or similar environments.
  • Proven ability to manage safety programs in fast-paced, operational settings.
  • Experience conducting risk assessments, audits, and incident investigations.
  • Familiarity with robotics environments, lab operations, or teleoperation workflows preferred.
