Role and Responsibilities:

  • Identify opportunities for process, quality and safety improvements and automation opportunities. Lead and own solution development and implementation.
  • Partner with integrators to design and deploy automated manufacturing and assembly equipment.
  • Develop specifications, review designs, and manage suppliers for custom automation projects.
  • Program and integrate PLCs, robotics, motion systems, and machine vision solutions.
  • Ensure seamless equipment integration with MES and data systems.
  • Lead FAT/SAT, equipment validation, and production handover.
  • Drive process optimization and standardization across manufacturing lines.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety and regulatory requirements.

Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering.
  • 7+years' experience in equipment design and manufacturing automation in a lean environment.
  • Proficiency in 3D design (SolidWorks or equivalent) and preferably PLC/HMI programming (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, etc.).
  • Demonstrated track record of delivering measurable design for manufacturing (DFM) improvements that enhanced product quality, manufacturability and cost efficiency.
  • Proven experience partnering with integrators to complete automation projects from ideation to machine design, execution, commissioning, and production release.
  • Extensive experience with robotics, motion control, pneumatics, and machine vision systems.
  • Ability to develop specifications, review designs, and manage suppliers for custom automation projects.
  • Strong project management and problem-solving skills.
  • Highly motivated self-starter and ability to motivate and lead teams.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication with cross-functional teams.
  • Proven ability to lead technical projects and manage vendor interactions.
