Job description

Inova Fairfax Cardiac Diagnostics Unit is seeking a full-time Nurse Manager. Full-time Monday-Friday schedule.

Our team assists with cardiac testing (including transesophageal echocardiograms (TEEs), cardioversions, tilt table tests (TTTs) and cardiac stress tests) for both inpatients and outpatients.

The Nurse Manager will lead a staff of approximately 48 to include Nurses and technicians. The nursing team prepares and recovers high risk; high acuity patients undergoing TIVA/general anesthesia for these procedures and works closely with a great team of anesthesiologists and cardiologists. The Echocardiographers perform echos for inpatient and outpatient. They also support procedures outside of the department.

Cardiac Diagnostic Nurse Manager Responsibilities
  • Provides input to budget development and attainment of fiscal goals.
  • Ensures unit compliance with quality, safety, regulatory requirements, and Joint Commission standards.
  • Demonstrates leadership traits and supporting behavioral competencies.
  • Manages clinical and non-clinical staff, including day-to-day supervision, employee relations, and staff development.
  • Responsible for oversight of unit schedule and filling staffing needs, to include clinical coverage of units as needed.
  • Serves as primary liaison and information resource for unit.

Cardiac Diagnostic Nurse Manager Requirements
  • Qualified candidates must have at least two years' clinical experience related to the unit's scope: Procedural: (PreOp and Recovery)
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) required.
  • BLS Certification required. ACLS required for Emergency Department, Critical Care and procedural areas.
  • Licensure - Licensed or eligible for licensing in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Registered Nurse.
Cardiac Diagnostic Nurse Manager Preferred Qualifications

Prefer candidates with at least one year of prior managerial or supervisory experience and exposure to Cardiology.
