Position Summary

The Medication Technician (RMA/Med Tech) is responsible for administering medications and treatments, monitoring vital signs, and supporting resident health needs in accordance with physician orders and state regulations. This role works closely with nursing leadership, home health, hospice, and emergency services and may provide supervisory oversight when management is not present. Reports directly to the Registered Nurse or Administrator.

Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities of Medication Technician (RMA/MedTech)

  • Administer medications and treatments in compliance with physician orders and state regulations.

  • Measure and document vital signs and weight.

  • Maintain accurate medication administration records and documentation.

  • Follow medication room systems and safety procedures per policy.

  • Coordinate with physicians, home health, hospice, and emergency protocols as needed.

  • Supervise resident care team members to ensure completion of assigned duties when acting as shift lead.
