Job description

JOB SUMMARY

River’s End Restaurant is seeking Prep Cooks to join our team in the beautiful Nantahala Gorge. This role supports daily kitchen operations by preparing ingredients, maintaining cleanliness and organization, and ensuring food quality and consistency. Prep Cooks work closely with the kitchen team to keep service running smoothly and are essential to the success of our fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Applicants must be at least 18 years old.


Responsibilities

  • Maintain organization and cleanliness of the kitchen
  • Maintain food quality and consistency
  • Support teammates and assist other members of the Food and Beverage team as needed
  • Perform kitchen duties as assigned


Qualifications

Required:

  • Strong understanding of safe food handling, health code standards, and restaurant cleanliness
  • Ability to function as a team player, take direction, and work independently
  • Thorough understanding of the flow of restaurant operations
  • Dress appropriately for back of house and NOC standards
  • Uphold and follow standards, policies, and procedures

Preferred:

  • Previous kitchen experience preferred but not required
  • ServSafe certification preferred but not required


Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

  • Applicants must be comfortable working on their feet for long periods of time
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
