Job Description

Position Summary

The Business Analyst Intern will work under the guidance of the Technology Services team and assigned project managers. This role will assist with gathering and documenting business requirements, supporting project documentation, performing data analysis, preparing reports, and helping coordinate testing and implementation activities.

This is a great opportunity for a motivated student to develop practical experience in business analysis, technology projects, process improvement, financial analysis, and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • Assist project managers and business analysts with project planning, tracking, and documentation.
  • Support the gathering, analysis, and documentation of business requirements.
  • Help translate business needs into clear functional specifications and process documentation.
  • Assist with data analysis, reporting, and financial analysis to support project decisions.
  • Support cost-benefit analysis, risk tracking, and issue documentation.
  • Help maintain project documentation, including meeting minutes, action items, issue logs, decision logs, and status updates.
  • Assist with the development and execution of user acceptance testing plans, test scripts, and defect tracking.
  • Participate in meetings with business stakeholders, technology teams, vendors, and project team members.
  • Support follow-up with internal teams and external vendors on project-related tasks.
  • Assist in identifying opportunities to improve business processes through technology or operational changes.
  • Learn and use project management, documentation, collaboration, and analysis tools.
  • Perform other project support and business analysis tasks as assigned.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Management Information Systems, Computer Information Systems, Business Analytics, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Strong interest in business analysis, technology, financial services, asset management, or project management.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with business and technology teams.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Visio, Microsoft Project, Jira, SharePoint, Power BI, SQL, or similar tools is a plus.
  • Ability to learn new technologies and tools quickly.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Professional, proactive, and eager to contribute to project goals.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Major or concentration in Information Systems, Management Information Systems, Computer Information Systems, or Business Analytics.
  • Coursework or project experience in systems analysis, database management, business process modeling, project management, data analytics, or financial analysis.
  • Experience with Excel functions, data visualization, reporting, or basic SQL.
  • Interest in financial technology, financial services, asset management, or mergers and acquisitions.
  • Prior internship, campus project, or work experience involving business analysis, technology support, data analysis, or project coordination.

Hourly Rate: $25.00 per hour

Our compensation structure is comprised of a base salary and a short-term incentive program (cash bonus). Cash compensation tends to vary based on geography to account for local market conditions and is set to be market competitive. Compensation decisions are based on a number of factors including relative experience, overall years of experience, industry experience, education and designations.
