Recreation Therapist

Location: Everwell Ridgeview Hospital, Inc

Position Summary

Everwell Ridgeview Hospital is seeking a Recreation Therapist to develop and lead therapeutic recreation programs for patients receiving behavioral health and addiction treatment services. This role helps patients improve social functioning, coping skills, stress management, and overall wellness.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess patient recreational interests, social functioning, and therapeutic needs

  • Plan and facilitate therapeutic recreation activities and group sessions

  • Develop individualized treatment goals and interventions

  • Document patient participation and treatment progress

  • Conduct educational sessions related to wellness and leisure skills

  • Collaborate with treatment teams and patient families as appropriate

  • Maintain recreation supplies, equipment, and program safety

  • Support patient engagement and positive social interaction

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Therapeutic Recreation or related field required

  • Recreation Therapy certification or eligibility preferred

  • CPR/AED Certification required

  • Valid driver’s license required
