Description
The qualified candidate for this position is responsible for providing athletic training outreach services to local contracted high school(s) with community relationships as needed and directed. Varying hours during sports seasons.
Ridgeview Rehab has been offering sports medicine services to the west metro since 1986. We are a growing network of health care providers in need of an athletic trainer with exercise physiology, orthopedic rehab and sports medicine talent. Ridgeview will provide orientation and guidance to assist your professional development. As a member of our rehab family, your expertise will make a difference in your patient's lives. Job Functions
  • Serve as a Certified Athletic Trainer at a local high school(s)
  • Responsible for the assessment, treatment, prevention, and rehabilitation of acute, chronic, and emergency injuries and illnesses
  • Communicate with patient, health care providers, insurer and others to ensure that patient needs are addressed.
  • Refer student-athletes to physician and/or specialists as needed
  • Provide after school and event coverage as needed.
  • Understand patient and clinic operations following Rehab Specialties policy and guidelines.
  • Documentation of injury management
  • Effective communication with doctors, coaches, parents and athlete
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Work non-traditional hours including evenings and weekends

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
  • Ability to work independently and organize tasks
  • Ability to meet and maintain the necessary background checks as aligned with position functions
  • Ability to exhibit flexibility, self-control and maturity in work and behavior
  • Ability to promote Rehab Specialties services
  • Ability to serve patients in a friendly and efficient manner
  • Knowledge of basic computer functions and Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to respond appropriately to unpredictable situations and diverse patient populations
  • Ability to work autonomously and as a team
  • Capable of making independent decisions with the use of good critical thinking and problem solving skills
  • Ability to communicate in the English language for effective written and verbal correspondence in order to complete job functions as mentioned above

License/Certification
  • Bachelor's degree or Master's Degree in Athletic Training
  • Certification as an athletic trainer by the Board of Certification (BOC)
  • Licensed in the State of Minnesota as Athletic Trainer or eligible for licensure
  • Current Emergency Cardiac Care (CPR/AED Certified)
