Position Overview
Rider University invites applications for the Director of Campus Activities. The Director of Campus Activities provides strategic leadership for campus engagement and student programming at Rider University. Reporting to the Dean of Students, the Director advises the Campus Activities Board and supports student clubs and organizations, while cultivating a vibrant, inclusive campus experience that supports student development, belonging, and institutional pride.
This role is responsible for forward-thinking programming that anticipates student interests and builds an engaging calendar of events across the academic year. The Director also represents Rider University in regional and national professional networks, including participation in NACA (National Association for Campus Activities) events and conferences to secure talent, identify emerging trends, and strengthen Rider's campus entertainment portfolio.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Experience
  • Master's degree in Higher Education, Student Affairs, or related field
  • 3-5 years of progressively responsible experience in campus activities or student engagement
  • Experience advising student programming boards and/or student finance boards
  • Flexibility with schedule; some evenings and weekends required.
  • Satisfactory background and/or DMV checks required.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Experience
  • Experience with contract negotiation and event risk management
  • Experience overseeing student activity fee allocation processes
  • Supervisory experience
  • Experience with student club management platforms
