Material Handler - 2nd Shift

Location: Crest Hill, IL, US, 60403 Segment: Logistics

Purpose Statement: The Material Handler is responsible for shipping, receiving and transporting packaging, ingredients, and finished goods for the facility.

Key Accountabilities and Outcomes:

  • Observes all safety rules and regulations including use of personal protective equipment and material handling.
  • Follows all established Good Manufacturing Practices, including maintaining an orderly and clean work area.
  • Maintain forklifts by daily inspecting batteries, water levels, lights, horn, tires, mirrors, oil levels, backup beep indicators, etc.
  • Verify all deliveries/discrepancies by inspecting materials through physically counting and comparing the amount printed on the delivery receipt.
  • Enter necessary documentation of delivery receipts or material handling into the company's computer system.
  • Organize/rotate old materials with new.
  • Housekeeping: daily remove/fix any dirty, torn, hanging, broken wood, packaging, ingredients etc.
  • Assist management with inventory balances through physical cycle counts.
  • Label any open/partial ingredient and packaging.
  • Check production schedules daily to stage packaging and ingredients if needed.
  • Performs all other warehouse and freezer duties.
  • Must be able to operate all forklift equipment
  • Must be trained and recertified annually for forklift license
  • Must be able to work in an extremely cold environment

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Must read, write and speak English.
  • Must possess basic math and computer skills.
  • Able to work with minimal supervision.
  • One year or more material handling experience.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
  • Be able to regularly stand, reach, bend, and move about the facility.
  • Vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and depth perception.
  • Hearing ability to meet manufacturing facility safety requirements.

Compensation: In accordance with state law, the rate or range provided is a reasonable estimate of the base compensation for this role. The actual amount may be higher or lower, based on non-discriminatory factors such as experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, shift differential, and location. Annual Range/Hourly Rate $20.80 - $20.80
