About the Opportunity

Lepley Recruiting Services is representing a growing flooring subcontractor in the Mid-Atlantic region seeking a Design Sales Associate to support and grow its residential business. This role combines showroom sales, customer relationship management, project coordination, and flooring product expertise throughout the full customer lifecycle.

This opportunity is ideal for someone who enjoys working directly with homeowners, remodelers, builders, and design-focused clients while managing projects from initial consultation through installation completion.

The role is based in Timonium, MD with travel throughout Maryland, DC, and Northern Virginia.


What You’ll Do

• Meet with clients in the showroom and at job sites to guide flooring selections and support project development
• Sell flooring products and installation services while delivering a high level of customer service
• Assist customers with flooring selections by explaining product features, benefits, warranties, and installation options
• Coordinate job measures, estimates, proposals, quotes, and sales orders
• Work closely with internal administrative and operations teams regarding scheduling, work orders, timelines, and project coordination
• Monitor projects through completion and follow up with customers after installation
• Visit job sites as needed to support smooth project execution and installation success
• Coordinate with accounting teams regarding project payments and collections
• Build and maintain strong relationships with homeowners, remodelers, builders, designers, and trade partners
• Utilize RFMS and internal systems to process orders, research product availability, and support project workflows
• Respond promptly and professionally to customer requests, questions, and concerns
• Meet or exceed established sales goals and performance expectations
• Stay current on flooring products, installation methods, industry trends, and design solutions


What We’re Looking For

• Experience in flooring, interiors, construction, building materials, or related industries preferred
• Ability to read and understand blueprints and project plans
• Experience with RFMS or similar estimating/project software preferred
• Strong technical understanding of flooring products and installation methods
• Excellent communication, customer service, and relationship-building skills
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Strong attention to detail and project coordination ability
• Good color, design, and product coordination sense
• Self-motivated with a proactive, team-oriented mindset
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment


Work Environment & Travel

• On-site role based in Timonium, MD
• Travel throughout Maryland, DC, and Northern Virginia as needed
• Approximately 30% travel required
• Combination of showroom, office, and job-site responsibilities
• Monday through Friday schedule with occasional weekend work as needed
