Job description

Position Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Rewinder Operator to join our manufacturing team, specializing in the production of high-quality printed materials and packaging products. The Rewinder Operator will be responsible for efficiently operating rewinding machinery to convert large rolls of material into smaller, manageable rolls suitable for further processing or distribution. This role is vital in ensuring product quality, operational safety, and timely delivery. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of manufacturing processes, safety protocols, and equipment operation, contributing to our commitment to excellence and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Pick up full spools of paper yarn from twisting area with hand trucks.
  • Load each spool on machine and thread paper yarn through it.
  • Start machine.
  • When the spool is empty, load in more full spools, splicing the paper yarn with tape, until the right size coreless coil is made.
  • Remove the coil of yarn and place it in a box.
  • Splice together twelve full rolls with tape in the proper sequence.
  • Responsible for completing production cards, quality control and keeping equipment and work area clean
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Must have the ability to work overtime as needed, including Saturdays and holidays.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift 2-10 lbs continuously and up to 50 lbs
  • Must adhere to company policies, safety rules and regulations, wear PPE

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Frequent bending, lifting, pulling, and reaching
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
