Job description

Job Summary
Our client is seeking a Revenue Recovery Specialist to manage low balance patient AR accounts, research unpaid and denied claims, and perform payer and patient follow-up. The role involves reviewing EOBs/835s, resolving denials, submitting appeals, maintaining documentation, and meeting performance KPIs.
Key Responsibilities
  • Manage low balance patient AR accounts (HB/PB).
  • Research unpaid and denied claims to determine root cause.
  • Perform payer and patient follow-up via phone and payer portals.
  • Review EOBs/835s, payer policies, and contracts.
  • Resolve denials including COB, eligibility, medical necessity, and reimbursement variances.
  • Submit appeals and reconsiderations within timely filing guidelines.
  • Maintain detailed documentation within AR/workflow systems.
  • Meet productivity, quality, and timeliness KPIs.
  • Escalate high-risk or complex accounts appropriately.

Qualifications
  • 2+ years of healthcare billing/collections/claims experience for Specialist I.
  • 5+ years of healthcare billing/collections/claims experience for Specialist II.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Strong understanding of insurance billing and payer processes.
  • Experience with EOBs/835s and denial resolution.
  • EHR experience required; EPIC strongly preferred/required.
  • Familiarity with ICD-10/CPT preferred.
