Summary

The Chief Revenue Officer is responsible for building and leading Potomac's revenue organization.

Reporting directly to the CEO, the CRO will align sales leadership, business development, distribution strategy, and revenue operations to drive growth across our Broker-Dealer, RIA, TAMP, and strategic partner channels.

This is a hands-on executive leadership role for someone who has successfully built, managed, and scaled high-performing sales organizations. The ideal candidate combines strategic thinking with operational rigor and knows how to create accountability, visibility, and consistency across a revenue team.

The CRO will oversee Internal Sales, External Sales, and Revenue Operations while partnering closely with Marketing, Key Accounts, Portfolio Management, Operations, and Compliance. The position was specifically established to unify these functions under one leader and drive scalable growth.

Key ResponsibilitiesDrive Revenue Growth
  • Own revenue, AUM/AUA growth, retention, and sales performance objectives.
  • Develop and execute a growth strategy across Broker-Dealer, RIA, platform, and strategic distribution channels.
  • Identify new opportunities for market expansion, partnerships, and business development.

Lead and Scale the Sales Organization

  • Lead, manage, and hold accountable internal and external sales teams to ensure they achieve their set KPI’s and sales goals.
  • Helpr ecruit, hire, train and elevate sales team to create a high-performing revenue team.
  • Build a culture of accountability, execution, and continuous improvement.
  • Establish clear performance metrics and management rhythms across the organization.

Optimize the Revenue Engine

  • Standardize and improve the end-to-end sales process.
  • Ensure consistent execution of Potomac's sales story, advisor engagement process, and value proposition.
  • Improve territory management, pipeline visibility, forecasting, and sales effectiveness.

Own Revenue Operations and CRM Strategy

  • Oversee Revenue Operations, CRM administration, reporting, sales automation, and data quality.
  • Leverage analytics and performance dashboards to improve decision-making.
  • Strengthen marketing-to-sales workflows, lead management, and advisor lifecycle tracking.
  • Ensure accurate forecasting, pipeline management, and KPI reporting.

Partner Across the Business

  • Work closely with Marketing on demand generation and go-to-market strategy.
  • Collaborate with Portfolio Management and Product teams on product positioning and advisor education.
  • Partner with Operations and Client Service teams to create an exceptional advisor experience.
  • Align with Compliance to ensure regulatory standards are maintained throughout the sales process.
Qualifications

Required

  • 10+ years of progressive sales, revenue, or distribution leadership experience.
  • Demonstrated success leading high-performing sales organizations.
  • Experience managing field sales teams and multiple distribution channels.
  • Strong understanding of sales management, forecasting, pipeline development, and revenue operations.
  • Experience using CRM platforms and sales analytics to drive performance.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and coaching skills.
  • Ability to operate strategically while remaining execution-focused.

Preferred

  • Asset management, wealth management, fintech, TAMP, ETF, mutual fund, or advisor distribution experience.
  • Experience selling through Broker-Dealer, RIA, custodian, platform, or wirehouse channels.
  • Familiarity with HubSpot or comparable CRM ecosystems.
  • Experience helping scale a growing organization.
