About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced US Tax Manager to join a growing public accounting and advisory team specializing in cross border tax compliance and consulting. This role is ideal for a tax professional with expertise in US federal income tax, cross border taxation, international tax reporting, tax compliance, and client advisory services. The US Tax Manager will oversee complex tax engagements, mentor junior team members, and deliver high quality tax solutions for individuals, trusts, partnerships, and privately held businesses with US and international tax reporting obligations.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and review complex US individual income tax returns, including Forms 1040 and 1040NR, while ensuring compliance with current federal tax regulations.
  • Prepare and review international information reporting forms, including FinCEN Form 114 (FBAR), Forms 3520, 3520-A, 5471, 8858, 8621, and 8865.
  • Research and analyze complex US tax issues involving residency determination, income sourcing, foreign tax credits, tax treaties, and international reporting requirements.
  • Manage multiple tax engagements simultaneously while meeting deadlines and maintaining exceptional quality standards.
  • Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and ongoing coaching to junior tax professionals to support professional development and knowledge sharing.
  • Collaborate with cross functional professionals to develop tax strategies and provide comprehensive client service.
  • Identify tax planning opportunities and recommend practical solutions that improve compliance and minimize tax risk.
  • Maintain current knowledge of changes in US tax legislation, IRS regulations, and international tax reporting requirements.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships through responsive communication, technical expertise, and proactive service.
  • Contribute to process improvements, workflow optimization, and best practices that enhance operational efficiency and service delivery.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 4 to 6 years of progressive experience in US tax compliance within a public accounting or professional services environment.
  • US CPA, Enrolled Agent (EA), or active pursuit of one of these professional designations is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of US federal income tax laws, international tax reporting, cross border taxation, and foreign information reporting requirements.
  • Experience preparing and reviewing complex US individual tax returns and international tax forms.
  • Excellent tax research, analytical thinking, and problem solving skills.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex tax concepts clearly.
  • Proven leadership experience mentoring, coaching, or supervising junior accounting or tax professionals.
  • Proficiency with tax preparation software, Microsoft Office applications, and accounting technology platforms.
