The Lion's Den Adult Superstores, an established, expanding adult novelty and media retail company has an Retail Store Assistant Manager career opportunity available at our Newton, IA location.

Hourly position that is responsible for assisting the store manager in administering and managing day to day operations as it pertains to staffing, customer relations, inventory, and the overall security of the business assets. Position requires a 40+ hour work week to ensure optimal coverage including days, nights, and weekends. The assistant will work mostly opposite shifts from the store manager to ensure adequate management coverage.

The Retail Store Assistant Manager actively works alongside the Retail Store Manager to ensure the highest level of customer service while driving sales. Retail Store Assistant Managers must be competent in generating sales and assisting with the overall day to day management of store operations. We have an excellent compensation package, including:

Commission

· Pay Includes: Base pay + commission

BASE PAY: $11.50 an hour (Commissions could be an additional $4.00-$6.00 an hour depending on sales)

Education/ Experience:

To be considered for Retail Store Assistant Manager, management experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred, retail experience required. This individual must possess time management and problem-solving skills. Additionally, strong communication skills and excellent customer service is desired.

Physical Requirements:

  • Physical Strength: able to lift up to 50lbs.
  • Standing: Be able to stand 8 hours without sitting.
  • Must have reliable means of transportation to and from work.  
  • Availability: Be available for all hours of operation and be reachable on all non- operational hours.
  • Average Mental Requirements: One must have the ability to deal with a variety of variables under limited standardization while being able to interpret various instructions.  Basic math skills and the ability to interpret graphs is necessary.
  • Reading comprehension skills and ability to prepare written communication with proper grammatical skills is also required.  Must be able to communicate effectively.
