This role is responsible for leading the UB Media sales team and partners closely with the UB Media account management team. As the Sales Director, you will help to grow the business by evangelizing UB Media, cultivating relationships, and providing guidance on tailored Retail Media solutions from across the product portfolio.
You will lead an internal team to perform and collaborate with internal stakeholders, brand and agency partners to advance the business by becoming a trusted resource. You will play an integral role in helping to drive revenue growth within a highly visible strategic growth initiative for the organization.
The Sales Director will be responsible for leading the sales team to provide best in class client service through strategic proposals and custom solutions, with the main objective to maximize sales revenue while ensuring the utmost client satisfaction.
As the Sales Director, you will not only lead revenue growth but also help shape the future of UB Media. This role requires a builder's mindset, balancing leadership with strategic influence across product, merchandising, marketing, analytics, and IT. You will play a critical role in defining how UB Media goes to market, commercializing new capabilities, and establishing scalable frameworks that support long-term growth.
This position is eligible for remote work within the United States. The Director will lead a geographically dispersed sales organization and must be effective at building relationships, coaching team members, fostering team culture and driving results in a remote-first environment. Periodic travel for team meetings, client engagements, industry events, and key business initiatives is required.
This is a unique opportunity to work in an entrepreneurial environment with the resources, organizational support, and existing vendor relationships of an industry leader.
YOU WILL ACCOMPLISH THIS BY:
  • Understanding the Retail Media landscape, the changing needs of the CPG community and the shifting consumer sentiment.
  • Collaborating with the brands and the Business Strategy team on innovation, including driving new ad solutions from feedback in the market and determining how to best position these solutions.
  • Actively listening to the needs of advertisers and communicating new ideas to the Business Strategy team to continuously innovate and optimize UB Media's offering, including influencing product roadmap and investment priorities.
  • Managing relationships across agency & social partners to provide best in class digital media solutions to our brands.
  • Working collaboratively with cross functional teams (e.g. Merchandising, Marketing) to drive revenue growth through new opportunities.
  • Conveying UB Media's value proposition and presenting solutions in a compelling, positive, and professional manner.
  • Establishing process and ways of working across the sales team and larger UB Media team
  • Coaching and enhancing team members to help build strong business pipeline to support sales goals before, during and after business is won.
  • Lead revenue forecasting, sales pipeline management, and business performance reviews to ensure achievement of annual revenue and profitability goals.
  • Evangelizing UB Media with brand partners and agencies at events and industry conferences.
  • Actively participate in leadership meetings by providing retail media expertise and thought leadership.
THE ESSENTIALS FOR SUCCESS:
  • 10+ years of experience across Retail Media, Digital Media, Commerce Media, or related industries, including 5+ years leading high-performing sales organizations.
  • Extensive experience in sales and media strategy; creating cross-channel online advertising incorporating programmatic, direct-to-publisher display/video, social, promoted listings/sponsored search advertising, as well as strong understanding of MarTech/AdTech platforms.
  • Demonstrated success building, scaling, or transforming high-growth media, advertising, ecommerce, or Retail Media organizations.
  • Ability to foster collaboration, accountability, and team culture within a remote-first work environment.
  • Exceptional ability to build and maintain relationships across all levels.
  • Ability to work closely with other functions including Merchandising and Marketing to support brand partners.
  • Strong consultative sales skills, a collaborative and innovative spirit and comfortable navigating ambiguity.
  • Experience leading, coaching and influencing people; including leaders of people.
  • Solid track record achieving goals with outstanding execution, problem solving skills, resourcefulness, and creativity.
  • Effective interpersonal communication skills, outgoing personality, and strong presentation skills.
  • Proven sales, negotiation, follow-up, and time management skills.
  • Experience negotiating and leading Joint Business Plans.
  • Deep understanding of retail media measurement, attribution, audience strategy, and client success metrics.
  • Extremely responsible, self-motivated, and able to thrive in an energetic, fast-paced, creative environment.
  • Understanding of marketing program design, execution, and measurement.
  • Works well in a team and collaborative environment.
  • Ability to remain focused and flexible during rapid change.

The pay range for this position is $143,000.00 - $200,000.00 / Year with the opportunity for eligible associates to earn additional compensation pursuant to the Company's bonus plan. Exact pay will be based on factors including, but not limited to relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, level, shift, geographic location, and business and organizational needs. Full-time positions are eligible for paid time off, health, dental, vision, life and disability benefits. Part-time positions are eligible for dental, vision, life, and disability benefits.
