Are you ready to gain hands-on experience bringing ideas to life through creative display design? As our Structural Design Intern, you’ll work alongside our talented Structural Design (TPOP) team to develop, test, and refine dimensional displays for a variety of The Bernard Group’s customers. You’ll design and evaluate 3D structural concepts using ArtiosCAD software, support production teams, and gain exposure to the entire process—from concept to finished display.

This is your opportunity to work in a collaborative environment where creativity meets precision. You’ll contribute to meaningful design projects while learning the craftsmanship and technology that drive world-class retail display solutions.

Shift available: Monday through Friday 8:30 am – 5:00 pm (on-site in our Chanhassen, MN office)

Compensation: $20.00 Hourly

A variety of these traits will help land you this job if you:

  • are pursuing a degree in Packaging Design, Structural Design, Display Design, or Fixture Design.
  • have experience or coursework using ArtiosCAD or similar design software.
  • enjoy turning creative concepts into 3-dimensional structural designs.
  • are detail-oriented, curious, and eager to learn the process of display design from start to finish.
  • have strong communication and organizational skills, and thrive in a collaborative environment.

On top of that you must:

  • have strong interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with teams.
  • adapt quickly to shifting priorities while maintaining accuracy and quality.
  • be proactive in identifying and addressing challenges.
  • be capable of lifting up to 40 pounds and performing occasional bending, kneeling, or reaching throughout the workday.

In this position, you will:

  • Design & Development:
    • Work hand-in-hand with the design staff to develop new displays or modify existing ones using ArtiosCAD.
    • Generate Bills of Materials and component specifications to support production.
  • Prototyping & Testing:
    • Participate in assembly, testing, and packaging of displays for shipment.
    • Document assembly steps and maintain proper file management procedures.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
    • Partner with Design, Product Development, Engineering, Sales, and production teams.
    • Learn about the full lifecycle of display manufacturing—from concept through production.
  • General Support:
    • Contribute as needed to internal production teams.
    • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
