Job Summary

The Supplies Sales Expert - Retail Account is responsible for driving profitable growth of HP's supplies portfolio within assigned retail accounts by applying deep subject matter expertise, consultative selling techniques, and strategic account planning. This role is regarded as a trusted advisor to retail partners, frequently engaging with senior stakeholders to align HP solutions with business objectives. The Supplies Sales Expert leads complex sales initiatives, influences account strategies, and provides expert guidance on process improvements, sales execution, and growth opportunities, while exercising significant independent judgment within broadly defined policies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a subject matter expert for HP Supplies, leveraging advanced product, category, and market knowledge to position value propositions effectively within assigned retail accounts.

  • Develop and own account strategies and supply growth plans, identifying opportunities across assortment, placement, promotion, pricing, and execution in collaboration with account managers.

  • Build and maintain strong, consultative relationships with retail partners, including senior and executive-level stakeholders, by gaining a deep understanding of their business priorities, challenges, and growth objectives.

  • Identify, qualify, and advance upsell, cross-sell, and expansion opportunities within existing retail accounts to drive sustained revenue growth.

  • Analyze sales performance, retail data, and market trends to generate insights and recommendations that inform account strategy, forecasts, and execution priorities.

  • Lead and contribute expertise to cross-functional initiatives involving sales, category management, marketing, supply chain, and finance to ensure seamless execution and customer outcomes.

  • Actively participate in negotiations related to commercial programs, promotional activity, and supplies initiatives to ensure mutually beneficial and profitable outcomes.

  • Represent HP professionally with external customers and partners, reinforcing HP's leadership position within the retail supply ecosystem.

  • Utilize CRM and sales enablement tools to manage pipeline, track activities, maintain account documentation, and support disciplined sales processes.

  • Mentor and guide junior sales team members by sharing best practices, category expertise, and consultative selling approaches.

Education & Experience Recommended

  • Four-year or Graduate Degree in Sales, Marketing, Business Administration, or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience or demonstrated competence.

  • Typically, 4-8 years of experience in sales, account management, consultative selling, or a related field, preferably within retail, consumer products, or technology-driven environments.

  • Proven experience managing complex accounts, influencing customer decision-makers, and driving growth through strategic sales execution.

Salary:

The on-target earnings (OTE) range for this role is $121,000 to $161,500 USD
annually with a 80%/20% (salary/incentive) mix. There are additional
opportunities for pay in the form of bonuses and/or equity (applies to United
States of America candidates only). Pay varies by work location, job-related
knowledge, skills, and experience.
