Position at Pilgrim's
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Include the following (Other duties may be assigned):
  • Maintain and operate heating and cooling systems within the plant.
  • Lays out reference points for installation of structural and functional components.
  • Industrial Boiler operation and troubleshooting
  • Starts system, observes operation, reads gauges and instruments, and adjusts mechanisms such as valves, controls, and pumps to control level of fluid, pressure, and temperature in system.
  • Dismantles malfunctioning systems and tests components.
  • Replaces or adjusts defective or worn parts to repair systems.
  • Verify readings in cases where conditions appear to be abnormal and record possible reasons for fluctuations or actions taken.
  • Perform daily rounds and log readings into books and hand-held devices
  • Enter information into databases or software programs.
  • Wear self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) if required.
  • Electrical trouble shooting / control circuits equipment operation /control set up/ panel operating

DESIRED QUALIFICATION:
  • RETA certifications in CARO, CIRO, and CRST (Certified Refrigeration Service Technician) a plus.

  • Gas torch / Gas welding experience

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); Prior experience in Refrigeration systems or equivalent degree from a technical school. or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Be able to complete the RETA Operator 1 Certification within two years. Desired RETA certifications in CARO, CIRO, and CRST (Certified Refrigeration Service Technician) a plus.
