Job Description

We are seeking experienced TIG Welders to support a fast-paced production line environment. This role involves TIG welding black carbon steel and stainless-steel pipe, including flanges and elbows, with a strong focus on cycle time, takt time, and repeatable quality. Ideal candidates are comfortable working on a moving line and maintaining weld quality while meeting production targets.

Responsibilities

  • Perform TIG welding on black carbon steel pipe up to 8 inches and 4-inch pipe assemblies.
  • Execute carbon steel to stainless steel welds.
  • Weld elbows and flanges connecting to compressors.
  • Complete welds through all three welding phases: root pass, fill pass, and cover cap.
  • Properly prepare material by grinding, beveling, and cleaning for weld-ready condition.
  • Maintain consistent weld quality in a high-speed, production-focused environment, adhering to cycle time and takt time standards.
  • Follow safety, quality, and production procedures at all times.

Essential Skills

  • Proven TIG welding experience with black carbon steel, stainless steel, and dissimilar metals (carbon to stainless).
  • Strong understanding of pipe preparation including grinding and fit-up for flanges and elbows.
  • Proficiency in root, fill, and cap techniques.
  • Ability to work efficiently without compromising quality.
  • Understanding of takt time and cycle time in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience working on or alongside a production line.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Recent and extensive experience with steel welding is essential.
  • Must pass a weld test that includes black steel welds.
