Translating military experience into civilian resume language can be challenging, but it's crucial for job seekers transitioning to the private sector. Focus on highlighting transferable skills—such as leadership, project management, teamwork, and problem-solving—using terms commonly understood in the industry you're targeting. Many employers value the discipline and adaptability gained in the military, so be sure to showcase specific examples that demonstrate these strengths.

What is a military resume?

It translates military duties and terminology into civilian language, making it easier for employers to understand the candidate's qualifications. Military resumes often focus on leadership, teamwork, problem-solving, and specialized technical skills gained during service. This type of resume is essential for veterans transitioning to civilian jobs, as it helps bridge the gap between military and civilian employment.
