Job description

Responsibilities/Qualifications
Homestead is hiring a Restorative Aide position that will work with senior in Northville and Livonia.
This is a full-time position that will split their time between facilities in Livonia and Northville.
The Restorative Aide's job is to assist residents who participate in the Restorative Program on achieving and maintaining optimal physical, mental, and psychosocial function. You will promote resident involvement and help the resident reach his or her goals according to the care plan.
Responsibilities:
  • Motivate resident to participate in directed exercise program determined by Restorative tech, as instructed by PT, OT and/or speech therapy
  • Plan and lead activities that promote wellness (spiritually, cognitively, physically, emotionally)
  • Provide 1:1 exercise program that will benefit the restorative client
  • Review resident files and draw information that may affect the residents' ability to participate in restorative program
  • Market the program and articulate its process with family, client and appropriate departments and/or companies
  • Communicate with PT, OT, and Speech departments regarding progress and concerns
  • Follow directives given by PT, OT and Speech
  • Develop and implement small group exercise programs for wellness of all residents
  • Complete assessment and document on each client on a daily basis when visited by restorative tech
  • Bill for the completed programming given at the end of each month
  • Any and all additional responsibilities as directed by building manager/restorative supervisor

Knowledge required:
  • Knowledge of proper body mechanics when working with residents
  • Knowledge of safety concerns and procedures for decrease risk of falls when working with residents
  • Knowledge of medications that may affect client's ability to successfully participate in restorative program
