Job description

Respiratory Therapy Position

This position performs duties in the Respiratory Therapy department. The position will perform EKG, stock supplies and O2 tanks, clean and calibrate equipment, refill and check intubation boxes, and performs other shift related duties as assigned or needed.

Responsibilities

Stocks and maintains designated areas with appropriate respiratory care equipment. Set up and testing of equipment such as ventilators, BiPAPs, intubation and resuscitation trays and other medical devices. Perform EKGs. Stocking O2 Tanks and checking supplies.

Other duties and responsibilities:

  • Performs oxygen rounds and IS instruction.
  • Performs CPR.
  • Maintains accurate records and assures quality care.
  • Attends shift and general staff meetings.
  • Is responsible for learning new technical devices and clinical procedures when applicable.
  • Follows procedures for accurate and complete entries on medical-legal documents and the patients' electronic medical record.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Certifications and Licensures

Required: BLS: Basic Life Support. Equivalent experience: Within 1 month of hire or transfer.

Required Education: High School Diploma or GED.
