American Plastics, headquartered in St. Louis, Missouri, is a leading designer and manufacturer of innovative plastic-injection molded products for the household & garage storage and commercial cleaning end-markets. We are searching for a Human Resources Manager for our Jefferson City, MO location. This position will report to the Director of Human Resources. This is a plant based on-site position.


  • Recruitment for direct labor positions
  • Conduct interviews, process background checks, employment authorizations and conduct new hire orientation
  • Process weekly timekeeping and maintain attendance calendars
  • Research and investigate employee issues or concerns, consults with management, and coordinate necessary action to bring appropriate resolution
  • Review disciplinary action and termination documents, taking appropriate partners as necessary
  • Maintain active and terminated personnel files
  • Assist in Bureau of Workers Compensation Cases
  • Provide support between employee and operations to approve weekly timesheets
  • Coordinate and distribute reporting on labor and hiring to Management
  • Other duties as assigned by Management
Requirements:
  • Minimum 3 years’ Human Resources Manager role in a company with 150+ employees
  • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent and relevant work experience will substitute
  • 3 years working in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to multitask and self-motivation
  • Excellent oral & written communications skills
  • Fully computer literate including MS Office Suites, ATS experience and the ability to learn Paylocity within the first 30 days
  • Professional attitude & demeanor with Management and employees
  • Resourceful with ability to apply critical problem-solving skills
  • Extremely detailed & organized • Demonstrated knowledge of all office machines including copier/scanner, multi-line phone systems
