We are looking for a Contractor Development Manager to help us by driving and leading demand creation across the full Contractor, including Contractors, Builders, and Architects. As a Trex Contractor Development Manager, you will be looked to as an innovator and expected to manage and grow the TrexPro Program within their assigned region while proactively developing new contractor relationships across single-family production, multi-family, and commercial markets. Depending on level and experience, this role may also include strategic engagement with builders and architects to unlock broader growth opportunities and drive project specification and adoption. This role is a key member of our Field Sales team.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • TrexPro Program Leadership: Manage, grow, and optimize the TrexPro Program within the assigned region, ensuring alignment with regional and broader Contractor strategies.
  • Contractor, Builder & Architect Development: Proactively build and maintain relationships with contractors, builders, and architects to identify, influence, and convert growth opportunities across single-family production, multi-family, and commercial segments.
  • Strategic Coordination & Collaboration: Partner closely with RSMs, DMs, AMs, and corporate Program Managers (TrexPro, Architect, Builder) to deploy tools, programs, and regional strategies that support Contractor growth.
  • Channel Alignment: Align TrexPro, Architect, and Builder opportunities with Dealer Contractor Partners to maximize adoption, engagement, and market impact.
  • Sales Enablement & Leadership: Train, support, and mentor sales teams on best practices for engaging contractors, builders, and architects; strengthen prospecting, collaboration, and conversion through dealer networks.
  • Financial Management & Stewardship: Manage Business Development Funds (BDF) and marketing resources to maximize ROI and ensure alignment with strategic priorities.
  • Market & Strategic Planning: Contribute to short- and long-term regional planning by identifying growth opportunities, market risks, and resources needs to expand share within the Contractor segment.

EXPERIENCE

We are looking for leaders with a bachelor’s degree with a proven sales success track record. We want to hear from you if you have previous experience as an Outside Sales Account Manager.

  • Contractor Development Manager I: At least 3 years of related sales experience or 3 years of key account responsibility are required.
    • Candidates without a degree will be required to have at least 5 years of related sales experience or 5 years of key account responsibility.
  • Contractor Development Manager II: At least 7 years of related sales experience and 5 years of key account responsibility or 3 years of successful personnel management experience are required.
    • Candidates without a degree will be required to have at least 9 years of related sales experience and 7 years of key account responsibility or 5 years of successful personnel management experience is required.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, train, and influence others, with increasing scope based on experience level.
  • Strong organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Proven ability to develop and execute sales or growth strategies that drive results and support regional objectives.
  • Experience using CRM platforms and sales technologies to track performance, manage relationships, and inform decision-making.
  • A collaborative leadership style with the ability to mentor and support sales teams and cross-functional partners.

SALARY

Base Salary Range:

  • Contractor Development Manager I: $75,000 - $100,000
  • Contractor Development Manager II: $90,000 - $115,000

The salary range provided serves as a general guideline for potential compensation for this position. It reflects the base salary and does not account for other benefits or additional compensation opportunities that may apply. This role is also eligible for further compensation through an annual/sales bonus, in addition to the base salary.
