Job Responsibilities: What you will do
Lead the overall education strategy for Knight. Through collaboration, identify overall training and development goals and ensure all training and learning materials align and incorporate overall company goals and objectives as well as ensuring adherence to existing training and development strategies. This position will report to the VP of HR.

  • Design and develop interactive and engaging eLearning, instructor-led and distance learning/web-based training curriculum to improve employees' practical skill sets.
  • Create instructional strategies that support organizational business metrics and needs while assisting in the creation and maintenance of Standard Work Instructions.
  • Conduct instructor-led training, both in person and using various web-conferencing tools.
  • Ensure assigned employees have career development plans that provide the organization with strong bench strength for future leaders and specialized individual contributors.
  • Develop measures, benchmarks or scorecards to monitor the effectiveness of training programs and consistently assess and measure training and development programs to ensure they are relevant to the needs of the changing business.
  • Collaborate with leaders to identify anticipated learning gaps and develop learning criteria to build necessary skills.
  • Interface with partners regarding training requests and consult on performance enhancement.
  • Ensure alignment of leadership development programs with corporate initiatives and other department objectives.
  • Partner with HR leadership to administer corporate succession planning programs.
  • Oversee Knight's internship program and build strategic collegiate partnerships with KNX preferred schools.
  • Oversee the creation and delivery of Knight's Management Development Program (MDP) ensuring each MDP Associate gains key learnings/critical knowledge of each assigned area.
  • Oversee development team ensuring it is appropriately staffed and operating within budget constraints.
  • Ensure general employee development training offerings are available to Knight's team members via multiple modes (ILT, VILT, e-learning, etc.).
  • Proactively works to assist others in achieving the organization's objectives.

Qualifications: What you need to bring

  • 5+ years of experience in transportation industry required.
  • Previous experience in training and development field required.
  • Previous leadership experience preferred.
  • Experience working in a corporate environment preferred
