Human Resources Assistant
Sanctuary Recovery Centers
Position Summary
The HR Assistant serves as a key member of the Human Resources team and provides administrative and operational support for all aspects of the employee lifecycle. This role requires previous HR experience, strong organizational skills, behavioral health recruiting knowledge, and familiarity with Arizona behavioral health regulations.
The ideal candidate will have experience recruiting for roles such as:
  • Behavioral Health Technicians (BHTs)
  • Peer Support Specialists
  • Case Managers
  • Group Facilitators
  • Medical Assistants
  • Therapists/Counselors
  • Administrative and Support Staff

Required Qualifications
HR Experience
  • Minimum 2 years of Human Resources experience
  • Experience with employee onboarding and orientation processes
  • Personnel file management and recordkeeping
  • Background check processing and employment verification
  • Compliance tracking and document audits
  • Maintaining confidential employee records
  • Scheduling interviews, onboarding appointments, and orientations
  • Experience working with HRIS platforms
Behavioral Health Experience
  • Previous experience working in behavioral health, addiction treatment, substance abuse treatment, or healthcare settings
  • Understanding of Arizona behavioral health regulations and licensing requirements
  • Knowledge of credentialing and compliance requirements for behavioral health staff
  • Familiarity with Title 9 and other Arizona behavioral health regulations preferred

  • Experience sourcing, screening, and recruiting behavioral health professionals
  • Understanding of qualification requirements for:

Recruiting & Hiring Support
  • Post and manage open positions on Indeed and other recruiting platforms
  • Review resumes and prescreen candidates
  • Coordinate interviews with hiring managers
  • Track candidate progress through the hiring process
  • Maintain recruiting reports and hiring metrics
Onboarding & Employee Administration
  • Prepare and process new-hire paperwork
  • Conduct onboarding and orientation activities
  • Ensure completion of all pre-employment requirements
  • Maintain employee personnel files and HR records
  • Process employment verifications and background checks
Compliance & Credential Tracking
  • Monitor employee compliance requirements
  • Track fingerprint clearance cards, TB testing, CPR certifications, and required credentials
  • Conduct personnel file audits
  • Maintain compliance documentation for state and accreditation standards
  • Assist with HR-related audits and regulatory reviews
HR Operations
  • Respond to employee questions regarding policies and procedures
  • Support benefits administration and employee documentation
  • Assist with policy updates and HR initiatives
  • Maintain confidentiality of employee and company information at all times
