Position Summary
As a Lab Assistant in Energizer's R&D Team, you will perform battery testing to maintain our superior product quality and support new product innovation. This position, based in our Westlake, OH Global R&D Center, will work a flexible, revolving schedule to support quality and innovation project testing demands. We seek motivated individuals looking to grow as part of our dynamic workplace.
Responsibilities
Prepare, label, and organize battery samples for testing.
Independently use equipment and testing instrumentation such as battery test cabinets, ovens, mechanical testing equipment.
Load/remove batteries to start/terminate tests consistent with testing plan and schedule.
Complete assigned laboratory safety and operation duties such as battery disposal and inventory management.
Follow all safety standards at all times
Be a self-starter - demonstrate initiative to identify and apply solutions to remove roadblocks
Maintain equipment cleanliness and good housekeeping of work areas
Perform additional duties as assigned
Additional Qualifications/Responsibilities
What we are looking for
High School diploma or equivalent with a good fundamental understanding of mathematics and general science
Self-motivated with ability to work in a team-oriented environment with limited supervision
Possess key organizational skills and a high attention to detail
Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook and ability to learn required application software
Effective written and verbal communication skills in English
2-5 years of prior work experience in a technical setting
track record of increasing accountability
Work Environment
Will work in the Westlake technical laboratory environment.
The position will begin work with an 8-hour, 5 day a week schedule, with the potential to work 10-12-hour shifts, split shifts, or weekends dependent on testing volumes. Schedule adjustments will be communicated by the Supervisor 2 weeks in advance of changes.
Able to perform repetitive manual tasks with both hands, stand for extended periods of time, and lift 35 lbs.
Exposure to health risks or conditions that require Personal Protective Equipment such as safety glasses and gloves. Face shield and respirator may be required.
Able to cope in a demanding fast paced laboratory environment.
