Community Canvassers and Team Leaders
Hiring Immediately; $20โ€“21.50/hr + bonuses

Full-time & Part-time

We are currently hiring campaign staff to canvass door-to-door on behalf of Planned Parenthood Votes! South Atlantic to rally the vote for candidates who will protect our right to make our own decisions and keep the government out of our healthcare.
North Carolinaโ€™s sweeping abortion ban and restrictions on reproductive healthcare are harming real people. Bans on any healthcare put politics above people and out our futures on the line. Weโ€™re working to ensure that everyone can live, thrive, and raise families in healthy communities. Politicians have no business interfering with private healthcare decisions. Weโ€™re fighting to stop this government intrusion and put power back in the hands of the people.

This role is a great opportunity to gain experience in the following areas: Leadership, Communication & Advocacy, Community Outreach & Engagement, Campaign Work, Public Policy, and Social Enterprise.

Get paid well! Canvassing positions start at $20/hour. Team Lead positions start at $21.50/hour. We offer overtime pay and paid training.

Locations:ย Raleigh, NC; Charlotte, NC; Asheville, NC; Wilmington, NC

We are hiring immediately.ย All positions run through November with possibilities for advancement afterward. Shifts run from 12:30 p.m.โ€“8:30 p.m. weekdays and weekends with the possibility to work part-time or full-time.

Canvasser Responsibilities ($20/hr):

  • Engage with the public in a friendly and respectful manner
  • Deliver a compelling campaign message, and collect complete survey answers from voters
  • Participate in staff training to improve outreach skills
  • Follow the campaign's safety protocols

Team Leader Responsibilities ($21.50/hr):

  • The Canvasser Responsibilities plus:
  • Manage a small group of canvassers out in the field by checking in with them periodically throughout the day, and debriefing with them at the end of the day
  • Ensure each canvasser has all of the materials they need to be successful
  • Assist directors with canvasser training and administrative work

The ideal candidate:

  • Passionate about progressive politics and fostering democracy
  • Strong communication skills; you should enjoy working with other people and be willing and excited to speak with everyone
  • Hard worker who will stay motivated to engage as many people as possible
  • Open to new challenges and are interested in building their campaign skills
  • Culturally competent and able to respectfully engage with teammates and the community
  • Prior canvassing experience is preferred, but not required.
