Repro Operator
About the role
As a Repro Operator in the Extrusion Department, you will support the Repro Lead in transforming scrap materials into reusable products for manufacturing. Reporting to the Repro Lead, you'll play a key role in maintaining efficient operations in the Repro area, ensuring accurate scrap handling, and supporting sustainability efforts. This position is vital to keep production running smoothly and safely. This department plays a crucial role in our value of sustainability.
Key Job Accountabilities
As part of the Reprocessing Team, you'll be responsible for:
  • Repro Grinder Operation: Operate and monitor the repro grinder to ensure consistent processing of scrap into usable material, adjusting settings and clearing jams as needed.
  • Scrap Loading & Baling: Load scrap materials into the grinder and baler, ensuring correct handling and processing to maintain production flow.
  • Scrap Weighing & Reporting: Weigh scrap from each line using a scale and record quantities accurately for inventory and production tracking.
  • End-of-Shift Inventory: Complete a final count of scrap materials at shift end and submit inventory tickets showing any changes.
  • Forklift Inspection & Use: Perform daily forklift safety checks and operate the forklift to move scrap and bales safely and efficiently.
  • Area Cleanliness: Keep the repro and baling areas clean and organized to support safety and operational efficiency.
  • Shift Support & Flexibility: Assist with overtime shifts as needed, including taking on Production Packer duties when required.
  • Policy Compliance: Follow all safety, GMP, and HACCP policies to ensure a safe and compliant work environment.
  • Computer & Reporting Skills: Use basic computer skills to enter inventory data and complete reporting tasks accurately.
  • Assist Repro Lead: Support Lead with daily tasks such as scrap grinding, equipment setup, and maintaining workflow efficiency to ensure smooth and continuous operations.

Qualifications/Requirements
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Education:
  • High School Diploma or GED required.

Skills/Experience:
  • 3 to 6 months of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably as a Production Packer or in a related role.
  • Proficiency in operating forklifts and baling equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret scales for accurate scrap measurement.
  • Familiarity with hand tools and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
  • Basic computer literacy for inventory tracking and reporting.
  • Ability to write legibly and complete documentation accurately.

Personality/Attributes:
  • Dependable and punctual with a strong commitment to attendance.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on safety and quality.
  • Adaptable and willing to learn new processes and equipment.

Additional Requirements:
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs. unassisted and push/pull up to 100 lbs.
  • Physical activities may include reaching, climbing, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, bending, or twisting for up to two-thirds of the work shift.
  • Work is performed in a loud manufacturing environment with exposure to moving machinery and electrical equipment.
  • Required to wear appropriate PPE including hearing, eye, and toe protection; additional PPE may be required depending on tasks.
