Job description

FULL JOB DESCRIPTION:

Nationwide Skip Experts is recruiting a full-time Skip Tracer to join our team to focus on asset recoveries. Skip Tracers are a type of private investigator--utilizing our cutting-edge technologies, subscriptions, and strategies to find collateral wherever it may be.
This position is responsible for locating bank & finance customers and vehicles subject to repossession nationwide. This is solely an IN-OFFICE position, no field work involved. This is not a collections or sales job; however, this position does involve outbound phone contact with customers, field contractors, and client bank employees. We are seeking experienced skip tracers but will consider other applicants.
The Skip Trace Representative is responsible for making inbound/outbound calls to resolve customer issues, update account information, locating our client’s customers and vehicles in order to maintain company goals and objectives. These individuals must possess a proven ability to overcome objections, be detailed oriented, and capable of communicating with others on a variety of levels. This position requires extensive telephone work and data entry skills.

THE MAJOR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY FOR THIS POSITION:

Perform collection skip-tracing activities in accordance with FDCPA, and state and local collections laws.
Proper handling of inbound/outbound skip calls and utilizing multiple internet avenues to locate consumers while meeting production goals established by management.
Maintain clear and updated account documentation and coding on the skip-tracing location process.
Working the network of repo agents, national skip tracer companies, and plate-hit services. This is about being a great administrator and staying on top of them every week.
Working TLO, credit bureaus, and other subscriptions to locate assets.
Using our GPS/Telematics system to trace vehicle location histories.
Comply with all federal state and local regulations with regards to personally sensitive information.
Follow company skip processes and procedures.
Make cost-effective decisions in the best interest of the company.
Skip tracing delinquent accounts utilizing a variety of sources to locate the customer/collateral.
Use problem solving to resolve challenging accounts/situations.
Coordinate delivery of repossessed units/equipment.
Report back to Client Account managers in regard to respective clients.
Gather, analyze, or evaluate information from a variety of sources, such as court records, credit header data, people location software.
Use various location databases and software packages to locate vehicles subject to repossession (automatic license plate recognition software).
Work closely with repossession agents to coordinate activities.
Manage the repossession process for bank clients.
Work closely with bank, credit union and insurance employees.
Perform in depth people/vehicle location searches.
Proactively monitor accounts and address a variety of issues.
 
QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED FOR THE POSITION:

Minimum 1* Years of experience in skip tracing or automotive collections and recoveries. 
  • Good Computer Skills (as you will be using the internet, databases, and other electronic resources to track people down). You should be a fast typist and 100% comfortable around Google G-suite and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong Communication Skills
  • STRONG problem-solving abilities. Creativity and tenacity in tracking down hard-to-find accounts are essential.
  • Self-Starter. You will be working under the supervision of our Management Team, but with a high degree of autonomy to accomplish the company's recovery goals.
Goal Orientated and meets or exceeding goals.
Excellent Time Management Skills as this is a fast-paced environment.
Strong customer service skills with excellent phone etiquette.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
Good attendance. 
Ability to work well individually and as a team.
Possess the ability to multi-task successfully.
Experience speaking with professionals on the telephone is a plus.
Ability to communicate with customers to work toward a resolution with their account.
