Job description


Job Overview
The Furniture Repair Associate will operate a stock picker to pull and put away merchandise, shrink wrap, and prepare repaired merchandise for stocking, and any other tasks that are requested by the management team.
All training provided by AFW.
Job Responsibilities & Duties
Typical duties include but are not limited to:
  • Commitment to AFW's safety policies and procedures and ability to promote safety awareness.
  • Prepare and wrap merchandise using packaging material.
  • Operate material handling equipment to move products within the warehouse.
  • Operate a radio frequency (RF) scanner.
  • Correctly use a hand truck
  • Inspect all power equipment and complete the Vehicle Inspection Report before operation.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Prior experience operating warehouse equipment preferred.
  • Knowledge of the correct lifting/team lifting techniques.
  • Ability to become certified in the operation of warehouse equipment.
  • Ability to be trained on the correct use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow oral and written instructions accurately.
  • Ability to safely handle product from 0 to 35 feet above the ground.
  • Ability to efficiently work independently of direct supervision.
  • Able to have a flexible schedule and work all shifts, holidays, and weekends.
  • Work as a team member by interacting and communicating with fellow associates in a cooperative, constructive manner.

Job Requirements
  • Prior experience operating warehouse equipment preferred.
  • Knowledge of the correct lifting/team lifting techniques.
  • Ability to become certified in the operation of warehouse equipment.

Compensation
  • Starting at $17.50/hour and up - Dependent on experience
    • Pay Grade A: $16.00-26.91

Physical Demands
  • Capacity to maneuver in confined and at times congested areas.
  • Capability to stand, walk, stoop, & bend for 8 hours or more daily.
  • Lifting, gripping, bending, kneeling, stooping, and moving merchandise 8 hours or more daily.
  • Continuous use of arms, hands, fingers, eyes, legs, and back.
  • Ability to lift, lower, move, carry, push and pull all sizes of merchandise up to 100 lbs. and the skill to handle/manipulate merchandise up to 250 lbs. frequently.
  • Able to work in various environments with different lighting, loud exterior noise, and flooring.
  • Ability to work 0 to 35 feet above the ground.
