Job description

Renu Energy Solutions is currently looking to hire a Site Survey Technician in our Charlotte, Cary, Arden NC or Columbia SC office. Renu Energy Solutions is a turnkey solar and energy storage installer serving North Carolina and South Carolina. Since 2010, we've helped thousands of homeowners and businesses make the switch to clean, renewable energy. We design, install, and maintain high-quality solar electric systems and are committed to doing solar the right way.
Responsibilities
  • Accurately and expeditiously executing site surveys for residential projects while providing and excellent customer experience;
  • Completion of site survey forms, photo documentation of sites, detailed schematics of measurements, and performing shade analysis;
  • Opportunity to become Part 107 Drone certified and use Drone software during the site survey process; Expediting submission of site survey data to design partners, operations and field staff; Verifying and confirming site characteristics for field and operations staff;
  • Completing roof measurements, structural measurements, photos and documentation of existing electrical equipment;
  • Document electrical set up of the site including meter location, main load panel location, testing loads;
  • Contribute to the project documentation process and provide clear and concise communication to operations and field employees;
  • Serve as the bridge between sales, engineering, and field operations-ensuring every project starts with clean, accurate, and verified data;
  • Strictly follow company safety protocols, including ladder safety, rooftop safety harnesses, and electrical best practices;
  • Assisting other Renu business functions as assigned.

Requirements
  • Proven communication skills within a team, with employees and customers
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent observational and documentation skills
  • Professionalism, integrity, and confidence when interacting with homeowners
  • Ability to work independently in the field while remaining connected to a team
  • Comfortable working at heights, in attics, and outdoors in various weather conditions
  • Proficiency in digital tools: Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, tablets or field apps
  • Ability to safely use ladders, power tools, and hand tools
  • Basic understanding of building structures and electrical systems

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Associate's degree or trade school certificate in construction, engineering, energy, or a related field
  • Experience in solar, roofing, electrical, or general construction
  • OSHA 10 Certification (or ability to complete upon hire)
  • Part 107 Drone Pilot Certification (or ability to complete upon hire)
  • Knowledge of National Electrical Code (NEC) and residential building codes

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or education equivalent
  • Valid driver's license and must pass pre-employment driving record check
  • Preferred candidates have an associates degree or higher education, solar construction experience, OSHA10 safety training, solar PV system training, and knowledge of building codes
