Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced electrical Project Manager with a proven background in delivering data center and mission-critical projects to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience across the full project lifecycle, from upfront planning and pre-design through design coordination, construction, and commissioning, and the drive to build and maintain strong client relationships in a competitive market.
This role requires deep familiarity with mission-critical facility construction, including generator systems, UPS infrastructure, medium- and low-voltage power distribution, and the fast-paced, high-stakes environment of hyperscale and co-location data center work. The successful candidate will manage multi-disciplinary project teams, coordinate with owners, engineers, and subcontractors, and serve as a key point of contact for clients throughout project delivery. Strong organizational skills and consistent follow-through are essential.
What You'll Do:
  • Manage all phases of data center electrical projects from pre-construction planning through commissioning and closeout
  • Develop, maintain, and optimize project schedules, milestones, and deliverables to ensure on-time completion in a mission-critical environment
  • Establish and maintain strong client relationships; participate in marketing, contractual, design, and production meetings
  • Independently coordinate the work of project teams, balancing workload and resources throughout the full project lifecycle
  • Coordinate closely with owners, general contractors, MEP engineers, commissioning agents, and IT infrastructure teams
  • Participate in reviews with governing agencies for code compliance and permitting
  • Conduct work sessions for design development and contract document coordination in conjunction with field and engineering staff
  • Oversee procurement of switchgear, transformers, UPS systems, PDUs, generators, bus duct, and other critical power equipment with long lead times
  • Monitor project budgets, track costs against estimates, and coordinate workload adjustments to ensure completion within agreed schedule and financial parameters
  • Work with accounting and project controls staff on project reviews as needed
  • Attend and lead project meetings, including OAC meetings, coordination meetings, and internal look-ahead sessions
  • Liaise with field supervision and craft labor to ensure work is executed in accordance with design documents and project schedule
  • Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, and owner-requested scope changes in a timely and well-documented manner
  • Maintain complete and accurate project documentation, including daily logs, progress reports, and closeout packages
  • Identify and mitigate project risks proactively, particularly those related to schedule acceleration, phased energization, and concurrent construction
  • Support estimating efforts and business development pursuits for new data center opportunities
  • Ensure strict adherence to all safety regulations, site-specific safety plans, and NFPA 70E requirements on energized systems

Qualifications & Skills:
  • Minimum of 7 years of related electrical project management experience, with at least 2 years on mission-critical or data center projects
  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects valued at $10M or greater
  • Ability to interact effectively with multi-disciplinary design teams, owners, subcontractors, and field personnel
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management software; E-J currently uses Procore, Emque, Riskcast, Toric, and more
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, construction management, or a related field; equivalent work experience in electrical contracting considered
  • Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills with exceptional attention to detail in a fast-paced, concurrent-trade environment
  • Practical knowledge of electrical construction processes, power systems, and NEC code requirements
  • Strong business acumen in project planning, cost management, and client relations
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to present clearly to owners, executives, and field teams alike

Nice to Haves:
  • Experience on hyperscale or co-location data center projects (e.g., Tier III/IV facilities)
  • Familiarity with DCIM systems, structured cabling coordination, and IT infrastructure interfaces
  • Experience managing commissioning and integrated systems testing (IST) processes
  • Knowledge of BICSI, Uptime Institute, or TIA-942 data center design standards
  • Experience advancing digital delivery and AI-supported workflows in construction or infrastructure projects
