Job description

Renaissance Baton Rouge Hotel is looking for a full-time Engineer (Level 1) who reports to the Chief Engineer. The Engineer Level 1 is responsible for monitoring, maintaining and carrying out the preventive maintenance program on the hotel's heating, ventilation and air conditioning equipment, ensuring that the equipment and property are maintained in the best possible condition at all times and with the least amount of inconvenience to customers and employees.

Essential: (partial list)

  • Make repairs to hotel air-conditioning system: change filters, clean coils, replace motors.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on all equipment (I.e. boilers, chillers, HVAC-Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning, electrical, etc.
  • Requires an ability to perform heavy work. Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently and/or in excess of 20 pounds constantly.
  • Requires an ability to push/pull, grasp, lift and/or carry supplies or equipment weighing up to 100 pounds, occasionally to waist height.
  • Requires an ability to climb stairs and ladders, working at heights up to approximately 30 feet.
