Principle Responsibilities amp; Position Purpose: The Director of Facilities is a full-time, on-site role based in the Greenville-Spartanburg-Anderson, South Carolina Area. This role oversees the operation, maintenance, and safety of all hotel facilities, including building systems, grounds, and common areas. Day-to-day responsibilities include managing preventive and corrective maintenance, coordinating with vendors and contractors, monitoring facility budgets, and ensuring compliance with safety, health, and building regulations. The Director of Facilities leads and mentors facilities and maintenance teams, sets performance standards, and implements policies and procedures to support efficient operations. This role also collaborates closely with property leadership to support guest satisfaction, capital projects, and long-term asset preservation.
Pre-Requisites (Requirements):
Strong Facility Management (FM) and Facilities Operations skills to oversee building systems, maintenance programs, and day-to-day property performance.
Supervisory Skills to lead maintenance staff, coordinate work assignments, and promote a culture of safety, accountability, and service.
Budgeting skills to manage operating and capital budgets, track expenses, and support cost-effective decision-making.
Preventive Maintenance expertise to develop schedules, maintain equipment reliability, and reduce downtime and emergency repairs.
Relevant experience in hotel, hospitality, or commercial property facilities management is beneficial.
Knowledge of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, life safety) and applicable codes and regulations is preferred.
Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities are important.
An associate or bachelor’s degree in facilities management, engineering, construction, or a related field, or equivalent work experience, is advantageous.
