About the Organization

Located in Waldorf, Maryland, the North Suburban Youth Counseling Center is a community health clinic committed to making a meaningful impact in the field of mental health. Our mission focuses on empowering individuals, especially youth, to overcome challenges such as trauma, anxiety, and depression. We utilize a trauma-informed care approach, ensuring our services are tailored to the unique needs of our diverse clientele. As a private practice, we cultivate an environment of collaboration and professional growth, where our clinicians can thrive and innovate.

Work Environment

This position is entirely remote, allowing you the freedom to manage your work environment while still being a critical part of our therapeutic team. You will have access to our online systems to facilitate patient communication, documentation, and collaborative care. Our supportive team is dedicated to providing an inclusive culture where everyoneโ€™s contributions are valued.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive clinical assessments to evaluate clientsโ€™ mental health needs and tailor individualized treatment plans that prioritize their unique experiences.
  • Implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions that facilitate healing and resilience in clients, using both group and individual settings.
  • Maintain accurate clinical records, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with healthcare regulations, and contribute to continuous quality improvement efforts within the practice.
  • Coordinate effectively with a multidisciplinary treatment team, including psychiatrists, psychologists, and case managers to provide holistic and integrated care.
  • Educate and support patients and their families, offering guidance and resources to foster empowerment and recovery.
  • Stay informed about recent developments in mental health research, integrating best practices into your treatment approaches to enhance client outcomes.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Our outpatient practice serves a diverse range of individuals, including youth and families facing trauma, anxiety, depression, and other mental health challenges. We pride ourselves on being sensitive to the cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds of our clients, ensuring that our care is respectful and relevant. We focus on creating a safe space for open communication and healing, making your role critically important in fostering trust and rapport with each client.

Qualifications
  • A Masterโ€™s Degree in Social Work from an accredited program.
  • A valid LCSW-C license issued in the state of Maryland.
  • At least two years of clinical experience in a mental health setting.
  • Proficiency in solution-based psychotherapy interventions, with an understanding of trauma-informed care principles.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, enabling you to effectively connect with clients and collaborate with team members.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and critical thinking skills, crucial for adapting therapeutic approaches to dynamic client needs.
  • A positive attitude and a willingness to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
Preferred Experience

Experience working within a community health setting or with youth populations is highly preferred. Familiarity with telehealth technologies for remote therapy sessions will also be beneficial in ensuring effective service delivery.

Compensation and Benefits
  • Competitive annual salary in the range of $80,000 to $100,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance to support your overall well-being.
  • Life and disability insurance to ensure you and your family are protected.
  • Malpractice insurance coverage, relieving you of the typical concerns surrounding private practice.
  • Access to an Employee Assistance Program that offers mental health support.
  • Professional liability insurance, enhancing your peace of mind.
  • An abundance of unlimited referrals to ensure a fulfilling and manageable caseload.
  • Minimal paperwork requirements, allowing you to focus more on client care rather than administrative tasks.
Career Growth Opportunities

At the North Suburban Youth Counseling Center, we are committed to your professional development. We offer continual training opportunities, workshops, and seminars designed to enhance your skills and ensure that you remain current with best practices in mental health care. As you grow within the organization, there may also be opportunities for advanced roles or specializations related to mental health.
