Brief Job Overview

The General Manager, Dietary Supplement Verification is a senior leadership role responsible for leading the transformation, relaunch, and growth of USP’s Dietary Supplement Verification Program (DSVP), a multimillion dollar global business serving leading manufacturers, retailers, and industry stakeholders.
This highly external-facing role is accountable for commercial repositioning, customer engagement, and market expansion, ensuring the program remains a trusted, premium verification standard.
The role partners closely with the Head of Verification Operations and Marketing leadership to deliver a coordinated transformation while maintaining USP’s core promise that 'what’s on the label is what’s in the bottle.'  Ultimately driving to intended business outcomes of consumer access to quality supplements and increasing revenue.
The role leads execution of a multi-year investment program to strengthen commercial capabilities, expand marketing reach, and support long-term growth. It is supported by an existing commercial team and dedicated transformation resources, enabling focus on market-facing leadership and growth delivery.

This is a REMOTE position that requires some travel and stakeholder engagement, and the chosen applicant must reside in one of the following states: Maryland, Virginia, DC, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, New Hampshire, Florida, North Carolina, Michigan, Illinois, Kansas, Minnesota, or California.

Additionally, USP’s People and Culture division, in partnership with the Equity Office, invests in leadership and workforce development to equip all employees with the skills to create high-performing, inclusive teams. This includes training in equitable management practices and tools to promote engaged, collaborative, and results-driven work environments.

The General Manager, Dietary Supplement Verification, has the following responsibilities:

  • Leads an existing commercial team, including two sales/business development resources and a dedicated marketing resource
  • Drives customer engagement, pipeline development, and relaunch execution through these team members
  • Leverages an internal strategy/transformation support resource to advance cross-functional initiatives, program redesign, pricing evolution, and operational improvements
  • Partners closely with Verification Operations and Marketing leadership across a matrixed environment
  • Scales team structure and capabilities over time in line with business growth and investment plans
  • Strengthening consumer trust in a complex dietary supplement marketplace
  • Expand access to trusted verification for consumers
  • Maintain USP’s status as a premium, independent standard
  • Support public health through improved product transparency
  • Lead external positioning and relaunch of DSVP
  • Drive pricing, value proposition, and competitiveness
  • Serve as primary external representative with customers and industry
  • Partner with Verification Operations on program evolution aligned to market needs
  • Collaborate with Industry Programs and Marketing leadership
  • Execute growth strategy across global customer base
  • Deliver outcomes aligned with investment program

Compensation

Base Salary Range: USD $208,000- $286,000 annually.

Target Annual Bonus: % Varies based on level of role.

Individual compensation packages are based on various factors unique to each candidate’s skill set, experience, qualifications, equity, and other job-related reasons.
