Job description

Overview

Paralegal - Workers Compensation

Remote - South FloridaKelley Kronenberg's West Palm Beach office is adding a Workers' Compensation Paralegal to its defense team. This is a remote position based out of South Florida, ideal for a paralegal with three or more years of experience defending workers' compensation claims who is ready to take ownership of a busy caseload, communicate confidently with attorneys and clients, and keep pace with Florida's workers' compensation procedural requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Draft pleadings, motions, discovery responses, and correspondence for attorney review and approval.
  • Prepare discovery objections, track privilege logs, and respond to opposing counsel's requests.
  • Build out medical chronologies, case timelines, and wage-loss summaries for each active file.
  • Own case file administration end-to-end: calendaring deadlines, coordinating depositions, and communicating with clients and adjusters.
  • Handle e-filing through the eJCC portal and assemble trial preparation materials, including exhibits and case summaries.
  • Work side-by-side with attorneys to anticipate next steps and keep cases on track.
  • Log billable hours daily and ensure all billing entries are accurate and complete.
Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of paralegal experience in workers' compensation defense or a comparable insurance defense practice.
  • Familiarity with Florida workers' compensation statutes and the 60Q Rules of Procedure.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, Outlook) and experience with PDF software (Adobe Acrobat, Kofax).
  • Prior use of the eJCC filing system; exposure to Client Profiles/ATO or similar case management platforms is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and stay accountable in a remote role.
  • High attention to detail and dependable organizational habits.
  • ABA-accredited Paralegal Certificate preferred but not required.

This is a chance to grow with a well-established South Florida firm while working fully remote. If you meet the qualifications and are looking for your next opportunity in workers' compensation defense, we encourage you to apply.
