Software Manager - Work From Home
The Software Manager will be responsible for the overall engineering, testing, and production of systems for the platforms. The eco-system comprises of B2C, B2B, websites and back-office portals, that are interconnected and written using best of breed technologies. Integrated with CRM (Salesforce, HubSpot), Websites (WordPress) and Marking (Mailchimp) tools. B2C/B2B portal is built with React on an open-source headless CMS framework as-a-backend (Liferay) hosted on AWS. The service portal is built in with React on top of Lambda/AppSync AWS PaaS/IaaS. Full reporting suite across all databases, analytics, web-analytics, and unstructured data (MetaBase). We are looking for Independent Contractors that have their own LLC. This position is 100% Remote but prefers the candidate to be located in Boston area.
Software Manager Responsibilities:
- Management of overseas outsourced IT consultants and Vendors.
- Being directly responsible for the operating budget to maximize utilization of resources and delivery of products and solution.
- Executing against the set strategy, architecture, and technology direction for the development outlined in the Company's product roadmap.
- Excellent communication skills, strong team player, and the ability to work cross functionally in a fast-paced, high-productivity start-up environment.
- Demonstrated ability in people management, strategic planning, risk management, change management, project management.
- Ability to source and coordinate technical resourcing.
- Commercial acumen and excellent judgment, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills Passionate about winning.
- Flexible mindset and proven ability to work productively in a remote environment.
Software Manager Qualifications:
- B.S. in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related engineering field.
- Previous senior leadership roles in product or application development and engineering for high growth companies.
- Ability to lead a team to deliver great products to a deadline and within budget.
- Experience with globally distributed teams, offshore teams, vendors, and business partners.
- Experience in building and maintaining applications that are mission critical for customers.
- Hands-on experience developing UI code using JavaScript, React/Redux, HTML/CSS, Bootstrap.
- Well-skilled in Java, PHP, and Python tech stacks, ready and willing to write, test, refactor, efficient code.
- Excellent experience developing AWS PaaS and SaaS, to develop applications, specifically AppSync, Lambda, Cognito, BeanStalk, CloudWatch, CloudMonitor and a good working IaaS architecture like EC2, S3, and VPC.
- Strong grasp of SQL working with database servers like MySQL, AWS-RDS, DynamoDB, AWS-Elastic Cache.
- Experience with BI Tools and Infrastructure. Able to evolve ETL strategies/Data Lakes to maintain a flexible self-managed Reporting solution. Author more complex reports and fine-tune business written queries to help identify trends/insights.
- Good working knowledge of AI/ML tools for Data Science and weighted decision making.
- Familiar working in an Agile and Waterfall delivery framework and Agile tools such as Jira and Confluence.
- Experience in developing products and solutions such as B2B, B2C, Backoffice portals, various websites and using mixed technologies stack to deliver to business outcomes.
- Salesforce CRM, HubSpot and API integration experience desirable.
