Job description

Description
Who we are
Founded in 1999 and headquartered in Central Ohio, we're a privately-owned, independent healthcare navigation organization. We believe that no one should have to navigate the cost and complexity of healthcare alone, and we're on a mission to make healthcare simpler and more effective for our millions of members. Our big-hearted, tech-savvy team fights to ensure that our members get the care they need, when they need it, at the most affordable cost - that's why we call ourselves Healthcare Warriors®.
We're committed to building diverse and inclusive teams - more than 2,000 of us and counting - so if you're excited about this position, we encourage you to apply - even if your experience doesn't match every requirement.
About the role
As VP Health Plan Market Strategy, you will play a critical role in driving growth at Quantum Health by developing and executing a strategic go-to-market approach focused specifically on health plans. This role is focused on enabling success across a broad portfolio of solutions we bring to health plans, including provider quality solutions, virtual care capabilities, and future platform offerings.
The role will shape and execute the strategy for how Quantum Health and Embold Health (a Quantum Health company) engage health plans as customers and strategic partners, with responsibility for market positioning, messaging, relationship-driven growth strategy, and long-term market development. The ideal candidate brings deep healthcare industry expertise along with direct experience marketing and selling to health plans through complex, enterprise-level, multi-year sales cycles.
This individual will partner closely with executive leadership, product, sales and marketing teams to build market awareness, define compelling value propositions by buyer persona, develop strategic storytelling, and drive positioning that supports long-term growth in the health plan segment.
A key component of this role will be defining and evolving the branding strategy for the health plan market, including how Embold Health's brand and strong reputation around provider quality is leveraged within the broader Quantum Health portfolio strategy. The role will support brand strategy, thought leadership, positioning and go-to-market integration for Quantum Health, Embold Health as well as additional offerings, including CirrusMD virtual care capabilities and other emerging solutions relevant to health plans.
While the position does not include direct people management responsibilities, this is a highly strategic individual contributor role with significant executive visibility and enterprise-wide influence. The role is expected to have a meaningful impact on our growth strategy, market positioning, and long-term success within the payer market.
While this role will closely support enterprise sales efforts and long-term market development, primary ownership of health plan relationships and deal execution will remain with sales and business development teams.
Location: This position is located at our Dublin, OH campus with hybrid flexibility or This position may work remotely anywhere in the United States of America.
What you'll do (Essential Responsibilities)
  • Develop and execute (in partnership with sales and marketing) a health plan market strategy that supports long-term growth
  • Own health plan market positioning strategy, defining how our broad portfolio of solutions is differentiated and perceived across the healthcare ecosystem
  • Collaborate with commercial team leaders to define and evolve the value proposition for health plans, including persona-based messaging and storytelling tailored to executive stakeholders such as CFOs, Heads of Product, Clinical leaders, and Innovation leaders. Map and refine the health plan buying journey to ensure messaging, positioning, content, and market engagement strategies align to the priorities and decision-making processes of key buyer personas throughout the sales cycle.
  • Lead the development of strategic messaging, narratives, and storytelling frameworks that clearly communicate the value of our solutions within the health plan market.
  • Recommend and execute (in partnership with the communications and events team) conference, event, and thought leadership strategies to increase visibility and credibility within the health plan ecosystem, including determining where the organization should participate, sponsor, speak, and build strategic relationships.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, Product, and Strategy leadership to ensure market positioning and thought leadership reflect the evolving Quantum Health business strategy and the realities of the health plan landscape.
  • Define and evolve the health plan branding strategy, including recommendations for how and when the Quantum Health, Embold Health and CirrusMD brand should be leveraged within the health plan market.
  • Translate market positioning into clear strategic direction for Marketing, Communications, and Design execution teams - partnering closely on opportunities and serving as the strategic bridge between business objectives and creative execution.
  • Serve as the internal advocate for the health plan market opportunity within Quantum Health - collaborating on opportunities to advance and amplify the broader Quantum Health portfolio and helping executive leadership understand the long-term value of sustained brand investment in a health plan context.
  • Other duties as assigned

What you'll bring (Qualifications)

  • Deep healthcare industry experience with expertise in marketing and selling to health plans
  • Proven success supporting or driving complex, enterprise-level, relationship-based sales processes with large health plans
  • Strong understanding of health plan buying dynamics, payer organizational structures, executive stakeholder management, and enterprise healthcare relationship development
  • Experience developing go-to-market strategies, positioning, and messaging for healthcare products or solutions sold into the payer market
  • Demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders, shape executive-level strategy, and drive alignment across marketing, sales, product, and business leadership teams without direct authority
  • Experience from a payer organization, healthcare consulting firm, navigation/vendor company, digital health company selling to the payer market, or leadership roles within healthcare technology
  • Strong executive communication and storytelling skills, including the ability to translate complex ideas across multiple personas and stakeholders
  • Experience collaborating across product, sales, strategy, and marketing teams in fast-paced growth environments
  • Familiarity with provider quality solutions, virtual care solutions, navigation models, and broader payer/provider market dynamics
  • Experience with innovative employer and payer models, including exposure to Surest, Coupe Health, AHPs, or adjacent healthcare benefit strategies, is a plus
