THE ROLE

STRIVE Recruitment is proud to partner with a technology company specializing in smart grid solutions and utility modernization to recruit for a Field Project Manager, Electrical Utilities based remotely in the United States. They offer a dynamic, entrepreneurial work environment focused on solving complex technical challenges that directly support the electrification and decarbonization of modern infrastructure.

The client is seeking a Field Project Manager, Electrical Utilities to join their Customer Operations team, reporting to the Manager of Project Management. This role is primarily responsible for overseeing AMI deployments at customer sites and serving as the primary point of contact for managing multi-faceted projects and customer relationships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, execute, monitor, and control projects from initiation through to delivery and commissioning
  • Serve as the primary customer contact, providing on-site support, training, and problem resolution
  • Communicate across multiple stakeholders to define requirements, establish system design, coordinate deliveries, and report on progress
  • Oversee systems integration between the company's AMI platform and other utility vendor systems
  • Negotiate, implement, and supervise subcontracts where required
  • Regularly report on project performance to management and key stakeholders

Qualifications

  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 50%
  • Bachelor's degree or advanced certification in Project Management, Operations Management, Engineering (Computer, Electrical, or Systems), or a related field
  • Familiarity with utility or energy sector operations
  • 4+ years of experience contributing to or leading implementation or deployment projects
  • Demonstrated experience managing customer and stakeholder relationships
  • Must reside within one hour of a major US airport; preference for candidates in IN, MN, MO, IA, or TN
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in the deployment or installation of utility-tech, telemetry, control, or communications systems
  • PMP designation
  • Experience in AMI/AMR, RF, or wireless communications systems
