Job description

Position Overview

Union Counseling Center is seeking passionate and committed licensed mental health therapists to join our dynamic team on a full-time basis. This is an excellent opportunity for professionals who thrive in a remote work environment, offering the flexibility to deliver high-quality care via telehealth services. The role primarily involves providing therapeutic support and interventions for clients navigating various mental health challenges.

About the Organization

At Union Counseling Center, we are dedicated to delivering effective mental health services tailored to individual needs. Our outpatient psychiatric office is committed to fostering a supportive environment where therapists can grow while positively impacting the lives of patients facing conditions such as depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and substance use disorders. We prioritize evidence-based practices and a collaborative approach to care.

Work Environment

As a remote telehealth provider, you will have the opportunity to engage with clients from the comfort of your own space while operating in a structured and supportive virtual clinic. We leverage modern technology to facilitate client interactions, ensuring they receive timely and effective services. While the majority of work is independent, you will also engage with a multidisciplinary team for peer support, case consultation, and ongoing professional development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough mental health assessments to identify patient issues and create individual treatment plans.
  • Utilize evidence-based therapeutic techniques, including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and solution-focused therapy, during virtual therapy sessions.
  • Facilitate psychoeducational and support groups through telehealth platforms to address shared mental health challenges and provide community support.
  • Collaborate closely with psychiatrists, psychologists, and other health professionals to coordinate comprehensive care plans.
  • Provide crisis intervention services and emotional support during mental health emergencies via telecommunication.
  • Educate clients on mental health topics, treatment strategies, and available community resources to empower them in their recovery journey.
  • Document all patient interactions accurately and in accordance with HIPAA regulations and ethical standards.
  • Participate in regular case consultations, team meetings, and continuous education sessions to enhance therapeutic skills and maintain up-to-date knowledge of the field.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Your work will primarily address the needs of a diverse clientele which includes individuals, couples, and families from various cultural backgrounds. The capacity to work with clients experiencing a wide range of mental health conditionsโ€”from mild anxiety to severe mood disordersโ€”is critical in providing effective and empathetic therapy. You will play a key role in fostering a sense of safety and trust, encouraging clients to share their experiences and work toward their goals.

Qualifications
  • Master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • Current licensure as an LCMFT, LMFT, LCPC, or LCSW-C in the state of Maryland.
  • In-depth understanding of mental health disorders and proficiency in evidence-based therapeutic interventions.
  • Experience conducting comprehensive assessments and formulating effective treatment plans.
  • Ability to effectively deliver both individual and group therapy to a broad demographic.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to foster therapeutic relationships.
  • Commitment to professional ethics and maintaining boundaries.
  • Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems for streamlined documentation and patient management.
  • Strong ability to work collaboratively in a remote multidisciplinary team environment.
Preferred Experience
  • Prior experience in telehealth service delivery.
  • Background in treating particular demographics, such as adolescents or LGBTQ+ populations.
  • Experience in crisis management and interventions.
Compensation and Benefits

The compensation for this position ranges from USD 80,000 to 100,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications. In addition to a competitive salary, we offer a comprehensive benefits package that includes healthcare, retirement savings with employer contributions, and generous paid time off (PTO). We also provide professional liability insurance coverage and continuing education opportunities to support your development as a practitioner.

Career Growth Opportunities

At Union Counseling Center, we are committed to fostering professional growth. Our structure allows for career advancement, from supervisory and leadership roles to specialized areas of practice. We encourage team members to pursue certifications and additional training, and we support your development through formal and informal mentorship.
