You will play an essential role in facilitating healing and resilience for our patients.

About the Organization

At Benchmark Behavioral Health Solutions, our mission is to deliver high-quality, trauma-informed mental health services to the community. Our dedicated team is committed to fostering a safe and respectful environment, focusing particularly on individuals dealing with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), complex trauma, and dissociative disorders. Our setting is a remote community health clinic that allows you to provide care from the comfort of your home while connecting with patients across Columbia, Maryland. You will work with a dynamic multidisciplinary team, which includes psychiatrists and other mental health professionals, ensuring that our patients receive comprehensive integrated care. Our flexible remote model allows you to balance your professional and personal life while contributing significantly to patient recovery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop individualized treatment plans that focus on trauma recovery, resilience-building, and patient growth.
  • Utilize evidence-based therapeutic interventions including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) in your practice.
  • Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions aimed at helping patients process trauma, develop coping strategies, and foster healing.
  • Collaborate with psychiatrists and other mental health professionals to ensure a cohesive treatment approach tailored to each patient.
  • Provide timely crisis intervention and support, effectively managing trauma-related emergencies that may arise.
  • Educate patients and their families on the effects of trauma, coping mechanisms, and available community resources.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential documentation in line with legal and ethical requirements, using electronic health record (EHR) systems.
  • Engage in regular case consultations, team meetings, and professional development activities focusing on best practices in trauma-informed care.
  • Commit to staying informed about the latest developments in trauma therapy, ensuring your methods reflect current research and practices.
Patient Population / Client Focus

In this role, you will primarily serve individuals who have experienced significant trauma, including survivors of abuse, accidents, and combat-related incidents. Our patients often present with symptoms of PTSD, complex trauma, and various dissociative disorders. This position requires a deep understanding of trauma’s emotional and psychological impacts and a commitment to fostering resilience among our clients.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 2 years of post-licensure experience preferred, although new graduates with relevant internship experience may be considered.
  • Strong knowledge of trauma-related disorders and proficiency in trauma-informed treatment modalities.
  • Practical experience in delivering trauma-focused therapies and interventions with a proven track record of successful patient outcomes.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, embodying a compassionate, non-judgmental approach to therapy.
  • A capacity to maintain composure in high-stress situations while providing effective support.
  • Familiarity with EHR systems and digital communication tools.
  • A collaborative spirit and a team-oriented mindset to work effectively within a multidisciplinary setting.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience in crisis intervention and working with diverse populations.
  • Background in developing and leading therapeutic groups focused on trauma recovery.
  • Additional certifications in trauma-informed care or specific therapeutic interventions (e.g., EMDR, TF-CBT) are a plus.
