Position Overview

Union Family Counseling Center is seeking a dedicated Licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our team in a fully remote role. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive mental health evaluations during initial consultations to identify client needs and challenges.
• Develop evidence-based treatment and intervention plans tailored to the unique requirements of individuals, couples, families, and groups.
• Facilitate engaging individual and group therapy sessions that promote healing and cognitive growth.
• Continuously monitor and document clients' progress throughout their treatment journey, ensuring adjustments are made as needed.
• Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, including psychologists, social workers, and medical professionals, to create integrated care plans.
• Stay current with developments in psychotherapy practices and refine skills through ongoing training and development.
• Assist family members and caregivers in understanding and supporting loved ones dealing with mental health challenges.
• Manage client referrals to ensure smooth transitions and appropriate follow-up care, including documentation of outcomes.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Our practice serves a broad spectrum of clients dealing with various mental health issues, including anxiety, depression, trauma, addiction, and relationship challenges. We prioritize culturally competent care, ensuring that all individuals feel heard and respected in their therapeutic journeys. Counselors will benefit from exposure to diverse demographics, enhancing their skills in engaging with clients from different backgrounds.

Qualifications

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• Current and valid licensure as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) in the state of Washington.
• A passing score on the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, demonstrating the ability to connect with clients and document care effectively.

Preferred Experience

• Previous experience working as a mental health counselor, with a proven track record of managing a diverse caseload.
• Proficiency in using electronic health record systems, particularly AVATAR, for effective documentation and care management.
• Familiarity with current best practices established by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA) and an understanding of psychotropic medications.
• Experience working with clients facing complex physical and emotional health conditions, including substance use disorders.
