Job description

Job Title: Project Engineer Location: Denver, Colorado Type: 12 month Contract Compensation: $65.00 - $68.50 Work Model: Hybrid – onsite and remote

Responsibilities

  • Support multiple utility-scale generation projects across gas, coal, wind, and hydro assets in Colorado, from initiation through project closeout, ensuring delivery within scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Attend POD (Plan of Day) meetings at plant sites, update project lead sheets and forecasts, coordinate contractors, and oversee safety compliance including lockout/tagout procedures.
  • Manage project timelines, schedules, budgets, and contractor performance, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform field walkdowns, site inspections, and safety verifications, including PPE management and safety documentation.
  • Communicate project status updates to team members and stakeholders, supporting internal operations and safety standards.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET-accredited university
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Typically 5–7 years of engineering/project experience; candidates with 3+ years related utility-scale generation experience may be considered
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Experience with project management tools such as Microsoft Office, SAP (preferred), Maximo or similar systems, Power BI, and familiarity with AI tools
  • Preferred certifications include PMP, Six Sigma Lean, or equivalent
  • Industry background in utility generation, utilities, oil & gas refining, manufacturing, or large industrial environments
  • On-site availability with a hybrid work schedule (Tuesday–Thursday onsite, Monday and Friday remote)
  • Willingness to travel to Fort Morgan, Pueblo, and renewable sites as needed
